Terms of Use

These Terms are an agreement between you and TripLock Inc. ("TripLock," "we," "us"). They cover the TripLock mobile app, the triplock.app website, and our waitlist (together, the "Services"). By creating an account, using the app, using the website, or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account, use the app, or join the waitlist. You may enter a minor's details as a traveler on a booking only if you are their parent or guardian or have that person's permission.

2. What TripLock is, and what it is not

TripLock is a software tool that helps groups plan a trip, track savings toward it, and book travel through third-party suppliers.

TripLock is not a bank. TripLock does not accept deposits, hold customer funds, move money, or provide banking or investment services. Your money stays in your own accounts at your own financial institutions. Product terms such as "vault" and "ledger" refer to tracking features. A ledger entry is a record for your group. It is not a balance held by TripLock and it is not a claim on anyone's money. Any future banking features will be provided through a licensed partner bank under separate terms that you will be asked to accept first.

TripLock is not responsible for whether group members actually save, contribute, or pay what they say they will. Arrangements between group members are between them.

3. Your account

Give us accurate information and keep it current. Keep your password and devices secure. You are responsible for activity on your account, so tell us right away at info@triplock.app if you think someone else has accessed it. One person per account. You may not sell or transfer your account.

4. Bookings

• Your contract is with the supplier. Flights, hotels, tours, activities, car rentals, and other travel are provided by third-party suppliers, including suppliers reached through Duffel, LiteAPI, and Viator, and the airlines, hotels, and operators they work with. When you book, you enter a contract with that supplier under the supplier's own terms, including its fare rules and its change, cancellation, and refund policies. TripLock is not a party to that contract and does not provide the travel.
• Payment. The card details you enter at checkout are sent to the supplier or its payment processor, which charges your card. TripLock does not store your full card number. You authorize the charge for the total shown at checkout, and you are responsible for any fees your card issuer adds.
• Changes, cancellations, and refunds are decided by the supplier's rules. TripLock cannot override them and does not guarantee any refund.
• Prices and availability come from suppliers, can change at any time, and are not final until the supplier confirms your booking.
• Funding and booking are not guaranteed. Reaching a savings goal in the app does not guarantee that a trip can be booked, that a price will still be available, or that every member will pay. Setting a goal does not reserve any price or inventory.
• Traveler details. You are responsible for entering traveler details exactly as they appear on each traveler's travel documents, and for having each traveler's permission to share them. Errors can lead to supplier fees or denied boarding.
• Travel requirements. Passports, visas, health requirements, and travel insurance are your responsibility.

5. Third-party links & affiliate disclosure

The Services link to third-party travel providers (for example, booking platforms, tour partners, and car rental through DiscoverCars). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and TripLock is not responsible for them. Disclosure: TripLock may earn a commission from partners when you book through our links, at no additional cost to you.

6. Your content and trip chat

You keep ownership of what you post, including trip details, chat messages, and expenses. You give TripLock a license to host, store, and display that content to the members of your trips so we can run the Services.

You agree not to use the chat or any other part of the Services to:

• harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, or post hateful or sexually explicit content;
• post anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
• scam or mislead other members, including about money they are expected to contribute;
• send spam or advertising;
• share another person's personal information without their permission;
• impersonate anyone.

We may remove content that breaks these rules. To report content or a user, email info@triplock.app.

7. Acceptable use of the Services

You agree not to misuse the Services. That includes attempting to breach security, accessing another user's account or data, reverse engineering the app, scraping at scale, submitting others' email addresses without consent, or using the Services for unlawful purposes.

8. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate your account, or remove you from a trip, if you break these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for TripLock or other users, or if we are required to by law. We may also discontinue the Services.

When an account ends, your chat messages and expenses are deleted, and your ledger entries in shared trips stay in the trip's history without your name so other members' records do not change, as described in the Privacy Policy. Bookings already made are not cancelled by closing your account and stay subject to the supplier's terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 2, 4, 11, 12, and 13) continue to apply.

9. Waitlist

Joining the waitlist requires a valid email address. It does not create an account or entitle you to any particular feature, price, or launch date. We may contact you about TripLock and you may unsubscribe at any time. We may limit, reorder, or close the waitlist at our discretion.

10. Intellectual property and license

The TripLock name, logo, designs, app, and site content are owned by TripLock Inc. and protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or sell any part of the Services without our written permission.

11. App Store terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

• These Terms are between you and TripLock only, not Apple. TripLock, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
• Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• TripLock, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
• If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property rights, TripLock, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as your wireless data service agreement.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

If you downloaded the app from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not responsible for the app and has no obligation to support it.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT LEDGER TOTALS OR PRICES SHOWN ARE ACCURATE OR CURRENT, OR THAT ANY TRIP WILL BE FUNDED OR BOOKED. TRIPLOCK DOES NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL, LEGAL, OR TAX ADVICE, AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF TRAVEL SUPPLIERS OR OF OTHER USERS.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRIPLOCK INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, INCLUDING DISPUTES BETWEEN GROUP MEMBERS AND ISSUES WITH TRAVEL SUPPLIERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept them.
